The Civil Guard dismantled a clandestine greenhouse for growing marijuana in Ricote

Two people have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crime of drug trafficking and defrauding electric power

320 marijuana plants and all the tools used for their illicit cultivation have been seized

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the services established to prevent and prosecute drug trafficking, has developed an operation that has resulted in the dismantling of a clandestine greenhouse dedicated to the illicit cultivation of marijuana enabled in a home of Ricote.

So far, two people have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking and electricity fraud.

At the beginning of the year and after detecting an increase in drug transactions, specifically marijuana, the Citizen Security Prevention Team of La Benemérita started the operation with the purpose of locating and dismantling clandestine plantations that could be found in the municipality.

One of the surveillance devices established in the town in collaboration with the Local Police of Ricote allowed to obtain indications that in a building could be an indoor marijuana plantation.

Once the objective was established, a series of vigilances were established in order to verify the commission of the criminal act of drug trafficking and, if necessary, clarify it.

After obtaining all the necessary evidence and prior judicial authorization, the Civil Guard has developed the exploitation phase of the operation, which has made the entry and registration of two homes in Ricote where a clandestine greenhouse dedicated to cultivation has been dismantled. illicit marijuana, composed of more than 300 plants, as well as irrigation, lighting, heating and ventilation devices.

The Civil Guards have also been able to verify that the illegal greenhouse dedicated to the illicit cultivation of cannabis sativa was fed by electricity.

The exploitation phase of the operation has culminated with the arrest of two people, a man and a woman, Spaniards and neighbors of Ricote, as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug trafficking and electric power fraud.

The arrested, the drug seized, the effects seized and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Cieza (Murcia).
