The I Days of Cultural Landscape of Murcia aims to define a theoretical framework and show examples of the idea of cultural landscape.
The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture together with the Official College of Architects of Murcia, is part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage and aims to lay the foundations of the concept of landscape, its management and territorial implications.
In these first days will analyze the agricultural landscape, which in the case of Murcia is linked to the urban landscape.
The conference takes place over two days, the first, next Thursday, November 15, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Murcia, where four speakers will discuss different experiences of landscape management with three examples of agrarian cultural landscape, the fertile plain of Granada, the agrarian park of Bajo Llobregat and the orchard of Murcia, and conclude with a debate.
The second session will take place on December 1 in Ricote with routes through emblematic places in the area and will conclude with the screening of the documentary 'Desarraigo' by Joaquín Lisón, centered on the Ricote Valley
According to the National Plan of Cultural Landscape, landscape is understood as the result of the interaction in time of people and the natural environment, support of the identity of a community.
For this reason, the cultural landscape is a topic of interest for urbanists, archaeologists, engineers, historians or sociologists, since it is a cross-cutting issue that conditions the development of the territory.
