On the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Ricote City Council expresses its rejection of all forms of violence contained in the Istanbul Convention.
We join all the struggles that cry out with respect, education and common sense for a coexistence in EQUALITY.
Ensuring EQUALITY is a priority of this City Council, a local response is important throughout the year, and not only on the day that is commemorated internationally, let's make it sound as many times a year.
For this reason, the City Council of Ricote has planned several activities to develop throughout the year, which we will tell you as soon as we set the dates.
This fight must be shared with our citizens.
After 40 years of democracy we still fight to be brave and free.
“The defense of the principles of equality, security, freedom, integrity and dignity inherent to all human beings is a priority for the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, in its role as the maximum representative of the interests and concerns of Local Entities.
And, along these lines, he commits himself to the fight against violence against women, for the mere fact of being one, and against his daughters and sons.
A priority born from the local response, shared with a citizen who, after 40 years of democracy, claims to stop being brave, to start being free.
A legally equal society, with a legal framework that puts us at the forefront of the surrounding countries, at the state and regional level, but where the numbers of deaths and aggressions against women and their daughters and sons continue to be overwhelming, driving the need to continue increasing efforts to give a comprehensive response to the victims and eradicate those attitudes and behaviors that reproduce inequality and that are at the origin of gender violence, contributing to perpetuating it.
