For the first time in a Trail Running race organized in our regional boundaries, we are committed to Sustainable Development Goal 12, which has allowed us to reduce the consumption of abusive and unnecessary plastic in the route marking
The Ricote Valley was adorned last Sunday, January 19, on the occasion of an appointment that has already become a true reference for the regional Trail Running.
I had to live the 2nd appointment of the Trail Tour FAMU 2020 circuit, within the framework of the VII Ope Trail, which ran through the mountains of El Chinte, El Ope and Balneario de Archena, also counting in its route the passage through Archena, Villanueva del Río Segura , Ulea and Ojós, with departure and finish on 12 de Octubre Avenue, next to El Ope School, and giving the option of covering approximately 8 or 26km.
As if this were not enough, the appointment organized by the Educational Center El Ope, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the Hon.
Archena City Council and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, became the first Trail Running race organized in the Region of Murcia that opted for the Sustainable Development Goal 12, allowing to reduce the consumption of abusive and unnecessary plastic in the travel beacon.
With this measure, the expenditure of more than five thousand meters of plastic tapes that have been replaced by reusable beacons has been avoided, favoring responsible use and commitment to the environment.
A new initiative that joins those already included, in previous editions, of eliminating corridor bags and plastic cups in the supplies.
The adoption of these measures is being promoted from the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, so that the events of the different leagues can introduce these changes, in favor of the improvement and conservation of the environment.
