| To deal with an alleged incompatibility of the mayor to occupy his position in the consistory | Three councilors of Ricote, María Victoria Martínez Lajarín (We are Region), Francisco Turpín García (Citizens) and Francisco Javier Guillamón González (councilor not attached to any group and from the Popular Party) force the celebration of an extraordinary plenary session to discuss the ineligibility of the Mayor of the municipality Rafael Guillamón (Popular Party).The three councilors affirm that Mr.
Guillamón was ineligible when he attended the 2019 and 2015 elections, since being the National Police and being on the dates indicated in second activity there was incompatibility to occupy the position.The second activity is an administrative situation that precedes retirement, but in which the activity continues to be registered.
This is a standard situation that officials of the State Security Forces and Bodies usually go through, but the law is clear in that regard.
The Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime says that the military and officials of the security forces and bodies who are active may not stand for elections or hold public office.The pressure exerted by the councilors has led to an extraordinary plenary session to be held next Monday, in which the convening councilors will request the resignation of Mr.
Guillamón, taking the appropriate legal measures if it does not occur.We are Region, since its inception it has fought for political regeneration in the Region of Murcia and its Municipalities, so we will closely and actively follow, hand in hand with our councilor in the municipality, the development of this process until its resolution.
