The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today laid the first stone of the Sports Hall of Ricote, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Miguel Angel Candel, and the Director General of Sports, Antonio Peñalver.
The construction of this sports complex is included in the Sports Facilities Plan and is in its first phase, an investment of 398,745 euros from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The construction of this infrastructure is "an initiative that makes the Autonomous Region to enable small groups of those sporting the Murcia region," said Cruz.
Thus, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, through the General Directorate of Sports, "develops in a fairly coherent account of his goals in sport," passing by "starting from the base and influence in small population centers that have the need, like any other stock population of the sport, emphasizing its social dimension, "he said.
This pavilion will therefore be "very important to satisfy a demand by the young Ricote for sport," added the director.
The new facilities consist of athletics track, locker rooms and bleachers, and will have a capacity of 205 spectators.
The site is located on the premises for municipal funds allotted in the area known as 'Parts'.
