The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Thomas, and the president of the Association of Municipalities of Valle de Ricote and mayor of Ulea, Victor Manuel Lopez, recently signed two agreements, one for extending care places people with intellectual disabilities in the day center of Fortuna and another for the provision of early intervention.
This is an addendum to an agreement between the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) and the Association of Municipalities Ricote Valley.
The initial agreement provided for an amount of 156,000 euros, 11,000 euros that are added through the addendum.
Thus, the overall funding will be 167,000 euros for a total of 15 places for people with intellectual disabilities.
Moreover, the agreement between the IMAS and the Association of Municipalities of Valle de Ricote, amounting to 6,667 euros, will allow to provide the service Early Care for children under six years in Ojós, Ricote, Ulea and Villanueva del Río Segura.
Early Intervention service is critical to the further development of the child presenting alterations in their development.
After the consensus diagnosis of the child, the case is derived from the appropriate department, in order to begin early treatment.
The main objective of early intervention programs is that children who have developmental disorders receive care from preventive and welfare aspect aimed at enhancing their capacity to develop and enable its subsequent integration into the family and social environment, and their personal autonomy.
