The director general of the Institute of Tourism, Manuel Fernández-Delgado, met this week with the mayor of Ojós, Pablo Melgarejo, to coordinate the joint action plan to promote active and nature tourism in the Ricote Valley.
The general director indicated that the regional strategy for 2017 aims at ecotourism as one of the products aimed at reducing the tourist seasonality of the Region of Murcia, as well as the way to find new opportunities for development.
Active and nature tourism protects the natural and cultural heritage, "one of the most important levers of wealth creation and jobs in rural areas", facilitates the opening up of new markets, stimulates attraction Investment and the creation of new tourism enterprises and diversifies the local economy by promoting handicrafts, retailing and other associated services.
