The Community, through the Institute of Development, will promote the development of new entrepreneurial projects in the Valle de Ricote related to sustainable tourism.
This initiative, framed within the Free Trade Zones project, seeks to identify new business models and encourage the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem around sectors related to tourism, one of the main strengths of this area.
The director of the Info, Joaquín Gómez, explained that the objective is for this enclave to specialize in an area with a high potential, for which it is essential to have local councils in the area.
"All municipalities share a great environmental, cultural and landscape value, characteristics that offer numerous possibilities and enormous potential to attract tourism, both regional and national."
He noted that "one of the first steps of this initiative will be to try to have all municipalities, to coordinate synergies that stimulate the creation of an entrepreneurial fabric that, in turn, helps the creation of employment at the local level."
The project, which will collaborate with the European Center for Enterprise and Innovation of Murcia (Ceeim) and the Region's Tourism Institute, initially aims to identify those sectors linked to tourism that have a greater potential and capacity to development, as well as the characterization of new niches and business models.
"Murcia is a region with a purely entrepreneurial character, as evidenced by the fact that the rate of entrepreneurial activity has been several years above the national average," said the director of Info. In addition, the GEM report, which measures the characteristics of entrepreneurship, reveals that almost eight out of ten of these entrepreneurs are willing to open their own business motivated by their vocation and their desire to have greater independence and freedom of action in their work activity and development.
This entrepreneurial nature is reflected in the 1,690 companies created between January and July, "which means that eight companies per day have been opened in that period," he said.
Free Trade Zones
This is the fifth action of the Free Trade Zones project, which has already been implemented experimentally in San Javier, La Union, Cartagena and Caravaca de la Cruz and is expected to be developed in other locations.
In San Javier, it is a question of taking advantage of the natural and climatological conditions to create a nautical leisure zone, while in La Unión it is intended to take advantage of the potential of its long mining and Flemish tradition.
In Cartagena, about thirty entrepreneurship opportunities related to diving have been identified to take advantage of the excellent conditions of this coast, recognized both nationally and internationally, for the practice of this sport.
In Caravaca de la Cruz, it is linked to the celebration of the Jubilee Year, around which there are numerous economies of scale between developers of technological applications, footwear companies, tourist accommodation, restaurants or workshops.
The program, which is part of the Entrepreneurial Municipality initiative that develops the Info and which involves 30 municipalities in the Region, seeks to stimulate the creation and settlement of companies specialized in these sectors through tax incentives and incentives, such as tax breaks. Economic Activities or in the Tax of Real Estate, subsidies for the start of activity or aid for the search and acquisition of land.
The idea is to attract investment from companies related to these industries and to boost entrepreneurs, and create a space in which all companies related to the different aspects of each of these sectors.
It also includes assistance, advice and training in the field of financing, and in collaboration with the municipalities involved, it is planned to organize conferences, workshops or conferences in which entrepreneurs are informed about the different sources of funding available to them or the European projects in which they can participate, and are accompanied and advised in the process of requesting and processing all these aids.
